A strange salad of heartfelt, acoustic ballads (Hymn for Judi), heroin-groove (Cous Dream) X-like punk (Campfire Girl), funk-tinged rock (Get Away), Minutemen-like Jazzpunk (the appropriately titled Watt's Train) and the mellow experimentalism of the last track. Sounds as uneven as the main drag in a South African shanty town, but it works.
The diversity is almost thumbing a nose at rock critics... like See? I can pull off all this shit and all you can do is write words. I am God. You are fuck.
